Nicki Minaj did not attend the 2026 Grammy Awards, and host Trevor Noah made sure to call out her absence with a hilarious roast about her recent controversial meeting with President Donald Trump.
During the comedian's opening monologue on Sunday for his sixth and final time hosting the ceremony, Noah began by pointing out all the best-dressed celebrities in the audience around him. He listed out names, including John Legend, Billie Eilish, and her brother Finneas, before addressing the elephant in the room regarding the "Super Bass" artist.
"Nicki Minaj is not here," Noah said as the crowd began laughing. "She is not here. She is still at the White House with Donald Trump, discussing very important issues."

The host then launched into his impression of Trump's voice as he continued, "'Actually, Nicki, I have the biggest ass. I have it. Everybody's saying it, Nicki. I know they say it's you, but it's me. Wap, wap, wap. Look at it. Look at it, baby.'"
Noah's burn on Minaj comes only days after the "Starships" rapper faced backlash for touting her support for Trump on social media, and claimed that he was fast-tracking her application for U.S. citizenship (she was born in Trinidad and Tobago).
On Thursday, Minaj appeared in Washington at the Trump Accounts Summit, the full-day launch of his new policy that plans to allocate $1,000 to every baby born in the country between 2025 and 2028.
"I am probably the president's No. 1 fan, and that's not going to change," Minaj told the crowd.
She took her vocal support to another level when she posted an image of a "Trump Gold Card" to X, the social media platform owned by Trump ally Elon Musk. "Welp..." Minaj wrote in the caption.

In a follow-up posted four hours later, Minaj elaborated that, thanks to the card, she was "finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President. Thanks to the petition. I wouldn't have done it without you,. Oh CitizenNIKA you are thee moment. Gold Trump card free of charge."
Trump explained his "Gold Card" plan in a post shared to his Truth Social platform in June.
"FOR FIVE MILLION $DOLLARS, THE TRUMP CARD IS COMING!" he wrote. "The opportunity to live in the Greatest Country, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, with the largest Economy in the World, is here. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. THE WAITING LIST IS NOW OPEN."

The post directed to a still-live website that explains how the investor visa would work: "For a $15,000 DHS processing fee and, after background approval, a contribution of $1 million," applicants will be eligible to receive "U.S. residency in record time with the Trump Gold Card," the official government site explains.
The cards effectively grant successfully approved applicants permanent U.S. residency, operating in a similar fashion to the existing EB-5 immigrant investor visa program. As of December, Trump claimed that sales of his gold cards had already reached $1.3 billion.
The 68th Grammy Awards aired Sunday, Feb. 1, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+. See the full list of winners here.**
