Meghan Markle is facing criticism over a "mess" of a product launch after eagle-eyed fans spotted a major error in her newest promotional post.
The Duchess of Sussex unveiled her lifestyle brand As Ever's newest offering on Instagram on Thursday, May 28. She's offering complimentary matchboxes for purchasers of five newly released bundles, with the offer featuring previously available items from her online store.
As Ever's new collections showcase various candles from Meghan's line without any price reductions. In promotional imagery displaying the matches alongside multiple candles, observers noticed "candles tunnelling" - raising questions about the quality of the Duchess of Sussex's merchandise. Others urged Meghan to come up with more original products.

An X user explained, "The pool of wax you see around the wick of Meghan's candle is referred to as candle tunnelling. This can waste a significant part of your candle.
"Common causes of tunnelling are using a wick that's too small or an unsuitable wax blend. As an added note, you should never place a once-lit match on top of a paper box filled with matches. That's just common sense."
Another chimed in, "That's because she's using the very CHEAP and TOXIC paraffin wax! Check the ingredients!"

A third Meghan critic remarked, "The whole photo is a mess and at first glance it looks like a pot head's coffee table."
A fourth commenter advised, "To prevent tunnelling, your first burn of a new candle should allow the wax to completely melt from the wick to the edge of the glass/jar. Also, keep the wick trimmed as a long wick burns hotter, and it also leans. I wonder if she states that anywhere on her product."
A fifth observer remarked, "The composition of this photo is truly uninviting. There are so many options to make busy layouts pleasing to the eye and somehow all of those were missed."
Other people weren't happy with the products themselves, with many pointing out that a matchbox isn't an original product idea.
"Is this parody? Please tell me this is a joke," one person questioned on X. Another chimed in, "Matches for the love of God! Is this the best she can come with in her product line, yes very inventive and original."
A third observer remarked, "I don't understand her product lines. They're not cohesive, don't flow, don't tell a story," while someone else sarcastically added, "Matchess for her candles?!?! She's a genius!!"
