Kelly Clarkson is ending her eponymous talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, after seven seasons.

The star announced the news in a statement jointly shared to her Instagram and the show's account on Monday, in which she revealed the decision to end the popular show was hers.

"I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at The Kelly Clarkson Show, both in Los Angeles and New York," she began her post. "There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner."

She continued, "Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show. Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives."

News of the show's ending comes just months after the death of Brandon Blackstock, Clarkson's former talent manager and ex-husband, who died Aug. 7 at the age of 48. The couple shared two children, daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remy, 9.

"This isn’t goodbye," Clarkson added in her post. "I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time … you never know where I might show up next. But for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”

Production on season 7 will continue as planned with Clarkson hosting and episodes continuing to air through the fall, reps for the show confirmed. In addition, a few special guest hosts will be announced. The news was shared today with the show’s staff and crew.

Last week, a representative for the Emmy award-winning daytime talk show told Entertainment Weekly that — despite a recent wave of online speculation — there were no plans for the series to wrap at the end of its current seventh season.

“Rumor!” they wrote, before noting that the program’s producer and distributor NBC would "advise directly if there is a show update.”
