Norris’ family spoke out on social media on April 1, warning fans about not believing or sharing “fabricated reports” relating to his death
“There have been a number of AI-generated videos and posts circulating online that contain false and misleading information regarding the circumstances of his passing, his health history and who was present,” they wrote
Chuck Norris’ family are warning fans about misinformation relating to his death.
Following the action star’s death on March 19 at age 86 in Hawaii, his family addressed the reported proliferation of fabricated videos and messages on the internet, per Variety.
“We are aware that since Chuck’s passing, there have been a number of AI-generated videos and posts circulating online that contain false and misleading information regarding the circumstances of his passing, his health history and who was present,” Norris’ family wrote in a statement posted to the late actor's Instagram Stories on Wednesday, April 1.

“These claims are entirely untrue. This includes fabricated reports of past medical issues, as well as false narratives surrounding family relationships,” they continued. “We kindly ask that you do not believe or share any information unless it comes directly from the Norris family or an official family representative.”
Among the reportedly AI-generated social media posts shared in the wake of Norris' death was an image of several of his Hollywood contemporaries, including Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Mel Gibson, standing in front of a casket covered in an American flag.

The late Walker, Texas Ranger star is survived by five children and wife Gena O'Kelley. The family confirmed his death via a statement on his Instagram account on March 20, writing, "It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace."

The An Eye for an Eye star turned 86 on March 10. To celebrate, he posted a kickass video to Instagram of himself sparring with a partner outdoors, saying, "I don’t age. I level up.”

The statement from Norris’ family announcing his death called him “a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family… The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends.”
