Anne Hathaway is dropping a second single as a recording artist ahead of a new movie in which she plays a pop star.

On Wednesday, April 1, A24 released a new trailer for Hathaway's upcoming movie Mother Mary and a song she performs titled "My Mouth Is Lonely for You," available on all streaming platforms now. FKA twigs wrote and produced the track for Hathaway, 43, alongside other producers Koreless, Xquisite Korpse, Tobias Jesso J and Jeff Bhasker.

The song is one of the numbers Hathaway performs as her pop star alter-ego Mother Mary in the new movie, a psychological thriller that she stars in with Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer, Atheena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Alba Baptista, Isaura Barbé-Brown, Sian Clifford and twigs, 38.

A24 and Mother Mary previously released a song titled "Burial," which Hathaway wrote with other real-life pop stars Charli xcx, Charli's husband (and The 1975 drummer) George Daniel and Jack Antonoff, on March 5. The movie is directed by David Lowery (The Green Knight). Twigs, 38, Antonoff, 41, and Charli, 33, collaborated on original music that will feature throughout the film beyond "Burial" and "My Mouth Is Lonely for You."

"Long-buried wounds rise to the surface when iconic pop star Mother Mary reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm (Coel, 38) on the eve of her comeback performance," reads a synopsis for the movie.

Vogue previously reported in an August 2025 cover story on Hathaway that the Oscar-winning actress portrays "a sort of Gaga-Taylor Swift hybrid" in Mother Mary, who seeks out a friend "who helped craft her all-consuming public persona in the first place" when she reaches a low point in her career. "I had to shed some things that were hard to shed," she told the outlet of learning to portray a major recording artist for the movie. "It was welcome. But it was hard, the way transformational experiences can be hard.” — sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.
